I’ve just discovered this really cool artist, Michal Levy. In her animations she explores the idea of visualising music (she is herself also a musician). This animation, ‘One’, is my favourite. I enjoy the way Levy plays with Jason Linder’s music and with the images of New York’s skyscrapers which become ‘animated’ under her spell and look almost like real human beings. Starting off with New York, she then transports us to another world, a dream-like world full of colours, shapes and sounds.In her website she explains: ‘“One” is my second endeavor in my own personal quest to understand how music “looks like”. I constantly ask myself what are the “colors” of music, in what space does music “live”.
