Daring and revealing, it would seem, Yoram Kuperminz. tries to cushion the blow; he documents with his camera the “suffering of others”—his mother’s stay in a geriatric ward in a home for the aged, a stay whose ending is known in advance. Taken over and over again during the visits of the son, Aviva’s photographs convey a picture of pure, exclusive, particular, uncommunicative and inaccessible, waiting, tedious suffering. Every additional embodiment of “she” only exposes more of that suffering, the shadow hovering and presiding over the morning, noon, and evening shifts, inconsolable.

בחושפנות נועזת, יורם קופרמינץ כך נדמה, מקדים תרופה למכה ומתעד במצלמתו את ‘סבלם של אחרים’, את שהותה של אמו במחלקה סיעודית בבית אבות, שהות שידוע כיצד תסתיים. בתצלומי אביבה, המבוצעים שוב ושוב בביקוריו של הבן, מתקבלת תמונת סבל טהור, בלעדי, פרטיקולרי, בלתי ניתן לתקשורת, ממתין, משמים. כל גילומי ה’היא’ חושפים רק עוד ועוד מן הסבל הזה, הצל המלווה וחולש על משמרות הבוקר, הצהריים והערב, בלתי ניתן לנחמה.
