Here are a few links I enjoyed this week during my wonderings around the net:
VIP ART FAIR-
The first online art fair, is running until this Sunday (11.59 pm EST).
Technical issues that have occurred along the week seem to have now disappeared. More than 130 galleries from 30 different countries are participating, so if you have a pass go check it out. I particularly enjoyed the “video” section in the VIP Lounge, with documentaries on artists and collectors (such as the Rachofsky Collection).

NOTES FROM THE FLOOR
My friends Rebecca and Vanessa with whom I interned at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, have opened a special call for submission. If you’ve ever been a museum docent now it’s the time to share your experience:
“Our mission is to publish an anthology of essays, poems, anecdotes, photographs and the like that explore the joys and trials of working on the art world’s literal and metaphorical floor. We know that docents live a hybrid existence, enjoying the privilege of spending hours in the company of great art, and cursing the job’s sometimes physical and mental monotony; and we hope to receive a range of submissions that reflect all facets of the docent experience. Ideally, submissions will ask questions about the venerated museum/gallery space and link personal experience to larger theoretical explorations.” Say Rebecca and Vanessa.

POST FOSSIL AT THE DESIGN MUSEUM HOLON
Show curated by Lidewij Edelkoort, until April 30th 2011.
Excerpt from the press release:
“In the aftermath of the worst financial crisis in decades, a period of glamorous and streamlined
design for design’s sake comes to an end.A new generation of designers retrace their roots,
refine their earth and research their history, sometimes going back to the beginning of time“…
